Trees fill every corner of Northwest Washington. We are called “The Evergreen State,” after all. When I started teaching first grade at Shoreline Christian I was told to “teach something about trees.” Over the years I’ve developed curriculum for my fall science units about deciduous, evergreen, and Christmas trees. I knew over a month ago that this was going to be a long Saturday. The day started with a Board meeting focused on the 2015-16 school year’s budget, the afternoon would be filled with supervising three basketball games, and the evening featured a party for a member of my school family. It was going to be a long, Shoreline Christian kind of day.

Hi SCS community, wanted to jot down a recap of the topics from the last Board Meeting on December 8, 2014. We began with a devotion from Alisha Steich and spent time in thanks and prayer for our wonderful students. Next we received updates from each of the board members for the committees on which they sit.

They also request that any children with flu-like symptoms remain home from school until 24 hours after symptoms subside and they are not taking any fever-reducing medications.
