Nicholas Bratt has been chosen as the Student of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2014- 2015 by the faculty of Shoreline Christian School. The emphasis 1st quarter was on academic excellence. Nicholas is characterized by the faculty as someone who “does superb work. He has a great deal of intellectual curiosity. He writes and communicates well and is gifted across many subject areas. He thinks beyond the immediate and attempts to apply his learning to a complete story.”
His advice to underclassmen is to read as often as you can, always get a good night’s sleep, and don’t do something just to avoid disappointing others. Do what you are passionate about.
Nicholas’ favorite hymn is “Abide with Me” because it asks God to comfort and support us when worldly things fall apart.
Nicholas has been involved in NHS and student council for three years. He has been in Shiloh, drama, and piano for four years. In addition he has been the volleyball and basketball statistician for three years.
Some of Nicholas’s favorite memories involve the Advanced Biology trip, senior retreat, and service days with Mr. Haulter because they would get lunch at Gorditos.
His hero is Doby the House Elf because he is courageous and self-sacrificing.
Nicholas plans to earn a 4-year degree in biology or chemistry and then go on to become a physician or a professor in biology or chemistry.
Nicholas is the son of Joel and Cheryl Bratt of Lake Forest Park.
