Parents are the most influential people in their child’s lives. Shoreline Christian would like to be a resource for parents as they determine the best time to discuss the topics of puberty, sexuality, safety, and decision making with their child. The timeline for these discussions is different in each family and we, as a school, want to support those individual differences by giving parents the tools to use whenever their children are ready.
With that in mind, all parents preschool – 12th grade, are invited to an educational presentation designed to equip parents to support their child and each other as they deal with these very important topics. We have invited CareNet of Puget Sound to come make an educational, faith-based presentation to our parents. This presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the elementary assembly room. Parents who attend will be given a list of resources including websites, books and information on classes offered through Seattle Children’s Hospital. Parents can count attendance as two hours of volunteer service. Please contact the school office if you would like to request child care. If you have any questions regarding the presentation please contact Char DeKoekkoek, Elementary Coordinator, or Andrea Grafmiller, School Counselor.
