Elementary Jog-a-thon

It’s JOG-A-THON Time!

The Jogathon will be here before we know it. This is a super awesome fundraiser for the school! Elementary students get pledges and run laps.

Mark your calendars for Friday, May 8th, so you don’t miss out on the fun! We’ll have t-shirts, prizes, face painting, a super slide, and a picnic to celebrate our kids and school!

Jog-a-thon Pledges Move Online!
We are moving all of our Jog-a-thon pledges online this year! We had online pledging available in a limited capacity last year, and it was well received. So, we are using a service this year called RallyUp that will process and receipt all pledges automatically. As you collect pledges from family, friends and neighbors, just direct them to this site: http://rallyup.com/5201a4
It's even mobile friendly so you can record pledges from a phone or tablet! We want to encourage you to send the link out via email or share it on Facebook and let your friends and family know why Shoreline Christian is so important to your family.
If anyone is hesitant to use a credit card, they can still pay their pledge by check.
Please contact Jonathan at jassink@shorelinechristian.org if you have any questions about the system.

Jog-a-thon Fun Run Guidelines:

Fun Run from Seattle to North Haledon, New Jersey (Home of 3rd grade teacher Ms. Bogertman) Distance 2,823.9 miles
Why?  To help us get ready for the jog-a-thon and have a great time getting in shape.
Where are we going?  We are running from Seattle to North Haledon, New Jersey (2, 823.9 miles)
When?  You can run at school or home any time between now and the day before the jog-a-thon.  Starts Monday, March 30, 2015 and ends Wednesday, May 6, 2015
What?  Go out and run, jog or walk as many miles as you can and report them to your homeroom teacher.  You can count family member miles if they run, walk or jog with you, up to 3 extra runners.
Prize?  If we reach our goal as an entire elementary we will have a pizza prize for every student and teacher.  The class with the top mileage per student will receive ice cream bars as well.

*Please report your miles into your homeroom teacher and they will report them to Mr. B who will keep track of total mileage.  You must walk, jog or run.  You will not be able to count biking or rollerblading.  Please make sure you get permission from your parent to go out and run.  It is important not to run alone, have your mom and dad or brother and sister go with you.  You need to be able to accurately record you mileage.  You may turn in miles in full or ½ miles.  Teachers are encouraged to take there classes out to the track or fitness trail and run 2 times per week. You may also run during lunch and breaks, before and after school as well.

We Need Volunteers

This is a great community event. To make it the best it can be we need helpers now.  Please consider committing to help the week of the Jogathon and the day of the Jogathon. Not only is your help a great way to spend time with the SCS community, it is also a fun way to earn volunteer hours.

We need many people to help before and the day of the Jogathon. We need lap counters, water sprayers, bouncy slide attenders, errand runners, set up and tear down help, and more. Please email Jonathan if you are interested in volunteering.
