We Have a Winner!

On Friday, February 7, the elementary and junior high gathered together for the school spelling bee. Representatives from grades 1-8 had been selected in prior weeks. Spectators waited with bated breath while Mrs. Winerva Klungel (former SCS teacher, parent of SCS alumni, and grandparent of SCS alumni and current students) gave each speller their words. After nearly an hour of competition, a winner was crowned: Ione Fox, 5th grade, who beat out second-place contestant Max Loechelt-Yoshioka, 4th grade. Congratulations Ione, Max, and all the other spellers on a job well done! Ione will represent Shoreline Christian at the Regional Spelling Bee for King and Snohomish Counties at Seattle Town Hall on Sunday, March 23.
