Jean-Paul Guion has been chosen as the Student of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2015-2016 by the faculty of Shoreline Christian School. Jean-Paul is characterized by the faculty as someone who “is a responsible learner with a positive and respectful attitude. His work is always consistent and of quality. He is an active force in our community and his kind demeanor has earned the respect of everyone. He is a person of integrity as he leads and participates in the life of our community.”
His advice to underclassmen is to ”have adults in your life along with your parents. They have amazing knowledge that comes from experience. Take one step at a time. Looking too far ahead will only cause worry. God has you in His arms and will give you peace when you have little or none.”
Jean-Paul’s favorite Bible passage is Proverbs 2:1-22. He has learned so much from the Lord, ranging from the Lord putting random thoughts in his head that help him in situations to seeking knowledge from adults.
JP has been involved in NHS for three years and student council this year. He has been in basketball for four years, track for two, and football for one. He has been part of SWAT for three years and led it for one. Jean-Paul has also lead Bible study, attended three mission trips and has been involved in his church’s youth group for three years.
Some of Jean-Paul’s favorite memories involve track, where he has enjoyed talking with friends while riding the bus and while running and playing Frisbee (although his face seems to be a Frisbee magnet).
Jean-Paul would like to go to Whitworth to major in theology and minor in sociology although he will probably start at Edmonds Community College to save some money. He would like to become an evangelist and a pastor but may start as a youth pastor.
Jean-Paul is the son of Paul and Judy Guion of Seattle.
