Alumna Rebecca Korf (class of 2011) earned First Place in the Washington Consortium for the Liberal Arts 2013 Essay Contest.
Two years ago, representatives from 40 different Washington state educational institutions and organizations assembled to discuss the potential of "a collective approach to promoting the value of a liberal arts education." The Washington Consortium for the Liberal Arts (WaCLA) was established and the 2013 Essay Contest was introduced. Students from WaCLA member schools were encouraged to write a 500-word essay addressing the value of a liberal arts education within context of "a specific incident." Rebecca's essay, "Liberal Arts in the Parks" was chosen as the First Place winner in this inaugural contest.
Congratulations on this achievement, Rebecca! You can read Rebecca's essay here.
