7th Congressional District Art Competition Winner!

Six SCS art students, Sydney Alberda, Grace Seyoum, Olivia Eisses, Anna Rietkerk, Noelle Alberda and Sarah Owen submitted art to the 7th Congressional District Art Competition sponsored by Representative Pramila Jayapal on May 1st.  The Awards Reception announcing the three place winners was held on Monday evening, May 8th, at the Seattle Repertory Theater.

Congratulations to senior art student, Sarah Owen, for receiving First Place in the 7th Congressional District Art Competition.  She also received two airline tickets to Washington DC to see her piece hanging in the tunnel between the House and the Senate on display for a whole year.  She was awarded the opportunity to represent Washington's 7th Congressional district at the national reception for all the winners from each district in the country in late June.

Sarah's watercolor is called Breathing Sunflowers, full of anticipation with the vibrant and rich colors of Summer.
Congratulations, Sarah!
